Course Outline:

Chapter 1: Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 Enterprise Portal Administration

This chapter briefly reviews vital Enterprise Portal concepts. The majority of this chapter covers important areas of configuration that are vital to a successful Enterprise Portal deployment.

This course is a follow-on to the Enterprise Portal Development I course and does not duplicate that material. An additional prerequisite to this course is the Microsoft Dynamics AX Development I course.

After completing this module, students will be able to:

  • Review Enterprise Portal concepts and architecture.
  • Review Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services.
  • Learn how to configure licenses for Enterprise Portal.
  • Review how to configure Users, User groups, and Web users.
  • Learn how to configure Security.
  • Use Microsoft® Office FrontPage® to edit Enterprise Portal Web pages.

Chapter 2: Enhancements to Web Forms 

This chapter covers the differences when coding Web elements. You should already have some experience adding code to standard application forms. You will use the following common modification tasks:

  • Use X++ code to enhance Web forms.
  • Demonstrate how to place lookup forms on Web grids.
  • Demonstrate how to filter Web published data depending on user type.

Chapter 3: Weblets

This chapter provides a good understanding of how to create a new WebLet, and how to customize its methods to achieve the results you want.

After completing this module, students will be able to:

  • Describe Weblets and what they do.
  • Create and work with common Weblet methods and properties.
  • Use the Webobject HTML and WebFormHandler classes.
  • Create a Weblet.
  • Secure Web forms and reports using Web content.
  • View State information.

Chapter 4: Advances Enterprise Portal Components

This chapter provides an introduction to the configuration of Enterprise Portal components.

After completing this module, students will be able to:

  • Manage the online product catalog using the Product Catalog Manager.
  • Manage company communication using the Content Manager to organize articles.
  • Introduce the Questionnaire abilities of Enterprise Portal.

Chapter 5: Case Study

In this case study you will put into practice many of the concepts presented in this course.

After completing this module, students will be able to:
